Wayne Douglas Gretzky is a Canadian former professional ice hockey player, who is regarded as the best player in the history of the National Hockey League. His visions, talents, courage in his life inspired millions. He is famous as the biggest, fastest, or strongest hockey player ever and his nickname “The Great One,” among his fans.
During his career, he made several records including forty regular-season records, six All-Star records and fifteen playoff records. After a successful career in 1999, he took his retirement. He considers his last day to be the greatest day in his life:
“My last game in New York was my greatest day in hockey…Everything you enjoy about the sport of hockey as a kid, driving to practice with mom [Phyllis] and dad [Walter], driving to the game with mom and dad, looking in the stands and seeing your mom and dad and your friends, that all came together in that last game in New York”
